All Aboard
Recently, I was in a church meeting and during the worship, a pastor shared the lyrics from a Curtis Mayfield song:
People get ready, there's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith, to hear the diesels hummin'
Don't need no ticket, you just thank the Lord
When I heard this, the term, “All Aboard,” occurred to me. Immediately, I remembered an experience that I had with one of our MFC pastors. He called and shared a voice message he had received on his cell phone. Someone had pocket dialed him, but he instinctively knew it was a prophetic message. This message came from a conductor on a train and the announcement was, “There’s been a slight delay. It’s no longer safe for you to remain on the observation deck. You need to find your seat assignment.” This random voicemail changed the entire direction of his ministry.
This announcement is also a fresh word for 2017. We are coming into a season in which God’s people must be mobilized and trained. This prophetic season reminds me of the rapid mobilization that happened when the U.S. entered WWII. In 1938, prior to the U.S. entering the war, there were less than twenty airports in the country. By the end of 1944, there were over eight hundred and eighty-nine, most of which were training centers. We need to prepare the people of God by mobilizing and training them for what is on the way. My finalize exhortation is “All Aboard.”
